Arachne ( eine sibylle ) ist ein ölgemälde des spanischen malers diego velazquez . Es wurde gemalt 1644-48 . dieses bild ist auch mit arachne verbunden , wie die berühmten las hilanderas . Es ist ein problem : was ist der dark-haired junge frau zeigt auf die leere tafel vor ihr ? sie kann entweder arachne sein, die als personifikation der malerei angesehen wird , oder eine sibylle oder prophetin, die auf die zukunft zeigt . Dieses bild ( 64 x 58 cm ) ist derzeit im meadows museum untergebracht , Dallas .
